Creator Description

Yuuji Kobatake, known as the "Nin Kiln," represents the Arita porcelain style known as "Kakiemon," which captivated the world centuries ago and had a significant influence on Germany's Meissen porcelain. In recent years, the Nin Kiln has received the honor of being presented to Their Majesties the Emperor and Empress of Japan (currently Emperor Emeritus and Empress Emerita). This recognition is considered one of the highest honors due to the specific selection of artworks by the Emperor. The Nin Kiln has also held solo exhibitions in countries such as the United States and Europe, receiving praise from art enthusiasts worldwide.

The Kakiemon style is characterized by its utilization of negative space to enhance the beauty of the design, while delicately and vividly applying overglaze enamels. The current head of the kiln, Yuuji Kobatake, has relentlessly pursued the use of vibrant colors in ceramic art. He places a strong emphasis on the raw materials, exclusively using the highest-quality natural sweet-tasting feldspar. His highly detailed and realistic depiction of cherry blossom patterns, which serves as the foundation, sets a new standard for the Kakiemon style in the modern era.
