Fusing the refinement of the red chrysanthemum with the strength of the green lion, this work is a piece unlike any other, a symbol of the spirit and artistry of Shinemon I. The red chrysanthemum has carried passionate meanings in the language of flowers since ancient times, such as “nobility” and “affection”, and has been held to be something special within Japanese culture. The green lion, for its part, is a symbol of “protection” and “vital force”.
