Blooming Through the Cold
The flower opens with a noble bearing even in the bitterest cold, and that figure is carried onto the bowls through the lustrous hananuri lacquer technique.

Black and Tame, Side by Side
The black wears the deep, settled lustre native to lacquer and carries a quiet dignity. The tame wears a refinement of its own: a deep red burning behind the lacquer black. It gains in clarity the more it is used, and its colour changes expression with the years.
