Built with a body as full and solid as could be taken, the work lets one feel both the maker’s sure technique and his playfulness.\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003e\u003cem\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eA Traditional Glaze of Emperors\u003c\/strong\u003e\u003c\/em\u003e\u003cbr\u003eThe glaze applied here is \u003cem\u003etaihi tenmoku\u003c\/em\u003e, a traditional glaze favoured even by emperors, named after the colour of the shell of the hawksbill turtle. Shinemon fused that traditional glaze with an amusing, playful form and created a new work.
